March 12:  Paint & Sip: Waterfalls.  6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Artisan Depot in Cowan.  Come create a painting of on the very best things about where we live: waterfalls!  We provide all the instruction and materials for a compete 11 x 14 acrylic painting on canvas.  Bring your favorite wine, beer, or soft drink; we provide snacks.  Participants are encouraged to wear work clothes.  $30 fee - class size is limited and pre-registration is required.  http://www.franklincoarts.org/workshop-details.html

March 23 & 24: Paper. Joy. Collage!  10 a.m. to 4 p.m., both days, at the Artisan Depot in Cowan.  This two-day intensive collage workshop will cover the many uses of paper, paint, fabric and mark-making in creating collages. Stenciling, stamps, printing, transfers, tools, mediums and the use of recycled papers are only a taste of what will be covered. The workshop is especially good for beginners, but all skill levels are welcome and will find plenty of inspiration.  All materials are provided, including a 20” x 20” canvas. Participants should bring a lunch and drink each day.  Please bring an apron or wear old clothing.   $100 fee.  ​Seating for this workshop is limited to seven (7) participants, so please register early.  http://www.franklincoarts.org/workshop-details.html

March 30:  Denim Feathers.  1 to 4 p.m. at the Artisan Depot in Cowan.  Got some old jeans in the back of the closet? Give them new life as cool jewelry, bits for collage or greeting cards, and more. Combine denim with tissue paper, Mod Podge, paint and jewelry findings; please bring some denim, scissors, jewelry tools if you have, bling, extra tissue paper if you have, and wear work clothes. Cowan Railroad Museum is an official Tennessee State Railroad Museum.  The museum is housed in the Cowan Depot, a local landmark that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Important safety reminders:  the railroad through Cowan is an active freight mainline!  Please keep a safe distance from the track!  We discourage visitors from staging photography on the tracks.  When crossing the tracks to and from the museum, please do so only at the signaled crossing on Cumberland Street (US Highway 41A).
